Twelve online modules, jointly provided with Pinnacle Conference, LLC, pair AI-powered clinical scenarios with up to 6.75 continuing education credits.
SPARTANBURG, SC, UNITED STATES, October 27, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — AIBODY, developer of a real-time digital twin of human physiology, today announced the release of The Critical World of Burn Injuries: Best Practices for Emergent Resuscitation, a 12-module online continuing education series aimed at emergency, trauma, burn, and prehospital clinicians who triage, assess, and resuscitate burn patients.
The series is jointly provided by AIBODY and Pinnacle Conference, LLC, a continuing education provider for healthcare teams, and is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Taken together, the 12 modules qualify for up to 6.75 continuing education credits.
Early burn assessment guides fluid resuscitation, triage, and burn center referral. Research shows a wide margin of error at this stage. A systematic review of 26 articles found total body surface area (TBSA) miscalculations ranging from 5% to 339% across provider levels, with up to 77% of burns transferred to burn centers inappropriately (Pham et al., 2019). A consensus study on burn center referral criteria reported frequent errors by referring providers in estimating burn extent and depth, leaving patients over-triaged as well as under-triaged (Bettencourt et al., 2020).
“The first hours of burn care often happen far from a burn center, in an emergency department, an ambulance, or a community hospital,” said Heather Tuttle, MS, RN, CEN, TCRN, Chief Nursing Officer at AIBODY. “We built this series so every member of the team practices those first decisions on a patient who responds the way human physiology responds, before the stakes are real.”
Each module is self-paced and available on demand. Instruction combines interactive exercises, embedded video, simulations on the AIBODY AI-powered scenario-based platform, and knowledge checks. Learners pass each module with 80 of 100 points and claim credit after the post-activity evaluation.
The modules build in sequence, from burn depth and TBSA estimation to fluid resuscitation, complications, and burn center referral.
The series was created for, and is aimed at, the entire interprofessional healthcare team: physicians, nurses, pharmacists, physician associates, dentists, social workers, psychologists, dietitians, athletic trainers, and others in burn care. Daniel Migliaccio, MD, authored the content, and Aaron Smith, MBChB, BSc, MRCP, Chief Medical Officer at AIBODY, provided expert review.
“AIBODY models human physiology at a resolution where a learner sees the consequence of each clinical decision as the patient changes,” said Kiril Tasseff, AIBODY’s Chief Executive Officer. “Joint accreditation through Pinnacle Conference, LLC brings this capability to physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and the wider care team as credit-bearing education.”
